UPDATE:  the Docking Plan has been texted to each of you sailing up to Langley. Per the Marina, the largest boats are on the dock. The rest should prepare to drop fenders & raft up. This may mean some jockeying around as boats arrive. Please use Ch# 66A for Marina Staff assistance in tying up. Brian is the harbormaster this weekend & they will be there down on the dock to Help you/everybody out.

Brian advised there have been Gray's & even some Orca's present in Possession Sound lately, however no sightings yesterday or today. Keep an eye on M/V Swiftsure on AIS. They are the local Whale Watching boat & will always be a good indication which direction to head. 

Remember:    Orcas - 1000 yards distance.  Bigg's/Transient's - 200 yards.   Gray's - 100 yards

Langley Whale Overnight Cruise

APRIL 19-20, 2025

Grab your binoculars & point your bow north to Possession Sound, directly toward Hat/Gedney Island for a relaxing, casual (and Respectful) float with 7 of our native returning grey & humpback whales for a magical Saturday afternoon. Plan to arrive early enough to allow time before heading in to the Langley dock. 

Remember:  keep 100 yards between you & any Grey's or Humpbacks. "Position yourself parallel to the whales. Do not leap-frog or stop in the path of any whales". I suggest watching the whale tour boats on AIS, decide on a spot, turn your engine off & simply float. If lucky, a whale may saunter by as they feed. 

On the Dock:  there will be a Potluck BYOB Happy Hour at the dock picnic tables at 5:30 pm. We are in a town so dinner is your own choice. Make sure to check with local restaurants for their reservation policy's if you plan to eat out. They book up super fast (!). Later evening may include a walk-a-bout up to local Spy Hop watering hole, Jazz at the wine bar, or perhaps a bit of boat-to-boat socializing.
