Sloop Tavern Yacht Club has cruises all year, usually once per month on a day when there's not a race so that all sailors can join us. We do mostly short cruises to destinations with docks for easy social getaways. The current cruise director and volunteers choose different destinations and themes each year, but these four destinations are always on the schedule:
Blake Island Snooze and Cruise - happens every January. It's a short trip to the docks at Blake Island, and a good reason to get out on your boat in winter with new and old friends. Trails and a sheltered firepit are at your destination.
Bourbon and Bacon Cruise - coincides with our newer Freshwater Race in Kirkland in February. Race and/or cruise, watch the awards, and mingle at Anthony's. The public dock is near public bathrooms and walking distance to downtown Kirkland.
Liberty Bay Raftup - this cruise on the Fourth of July involves anchoring and rafting up in long lines with many other boats from other clubs to watch the fireworks and party. This is a big party.Christmas Lights in Kingston - a quieter getaway in a nice marina walking distance from a few bars. Choose your family for a night during the holidays!
