2020 Elections Results

The poll closed December 16 during the online Christmas Party. Special thanks to all volunteers throughout the year, including board members, candidates who ran for office, and our race committee skippers & crew.

With 93 unique ballots cast, here are the newly-elected officers for 2021:

Commodore: Mike Adams

Vice Commodore: Mike Scribner

Secretary: Jenny Hill

Treasurer: Carlton Wilson

At-Large Board Member, Position #1: Lizzy Grim

At-Large Board Member, Position #3: Dana Brooks

A list of all current board members is located here.

Additionally, the new bylaws proposal was APPROVED by the general membership. As a result of the newly approved bylaws that go into effect for 2021, membership levels have been simplified to either Voting or Associate. Current (as of December 2020) Cruising members and dual members (Cruising or Voting) in good standing may convert their memberships for 2021 to either of the two valid membership types without incurring a $25 initiation fee. (If you want a new STYC burgee, though, you still need to buy one.)

The primary (administrative) contact for membership types that are no longer valid after 2020 will automatically be enrolled as a Voting or Associate member. If you want to change that selection, or if you're the "plus one" in a dual membership that wants to convert to your own membership in 2021 without incurring a new initiation fee, please contact us at

  • At-Large Board Position #2 (two-year term, 2022-2023)
  • At-Large Board Position #4 (two-year term, 2022-2023)

As always, members are invited to attend our monthly board meetings. Anyone considering getting involved as a club volunteer (or a future board member) are strongly encouraged to attend the monthly board meetings.
