-  STYC Burgees up

-  VHF Ch 72 - Call ahead. Our Slooper Dock Master Morris Lowitz will talk you in & find a location for your boat both Fri & Sat. We have many boats registered this cruise. Please be patience & considerate of others.

-  Morris may ask you to stay in a brief  "holding pattern" outside the marina entrance as a spot is arranged for you. Please bear with this process.

-  Have fenders out, be prepared to raft. Ideally larger boats on the dock, smaller boats rafted alongside.

-  option of mooring balls & anchorage if we go short on space. 

-  If you will Not be attending Now is the time to let us know. 

-  Bring Potluck dinner items, ICE!, Lanterns, wood/fire starter, your own plate, eating & serving utensils, cups, mixers for limited Rum provided, other fav beverages, garbage bags, paper towels, music instruments...   

-  Pls share all info w/ your Crew. Lend a hand helping others tie-up. Everyone helps with clean-up

The Blake Island Cruise

Jan 23rd Additional Update: The dock will likely be very full, boats rafted-up along side each other. Please consider bringing a power cord splitter if you own one. If you don't, you may want to consider purchasing one or borrowing one this week before heading over. 

PLEASE NOTE!!  For the first time ever we are cutting off registration for this cruise. There is now an official Wait List you can sign up on via the link below. Currently we are at a boat count of over 20 boats. The Blake Island Marina is actually quite small & open to the general public. Morris Lowitz has graciously agreed to be our Super Slooper Tetris Dock Master managing boat placement & rafting-up. However Morris is indeed a mere human. In order to get everyone on the dock we ask that you be prepared to have fenders on both sides & be prepared to raft. If you are unsure of attending, or have a change in heart or plans Please notify Kristina ASAP via Cruise@styc.org so that another boat may take your place.

Time for our Annual long awaited BLAKE ISLAND overnight cruise!!! It's common knowledge once something has attained sheer awesomeness there is little reason to improve further. But this overnight cruise just keeps on getting better & better with age. Gather your wits, your crew, your best dinner potluck item, your foulies, and your acquired PNW salty fortitude to head over to Blake Island for our STYC annual hoedown gathering where the Rum will be provided to the flock & the fire will keep us all warm & toasty.

As a reminder, this is a National Park. Annual permits can be purchased at the ranger station upon arrival check-in for $5/ft, or $.70/ft overnight only. Includes electric power. Dock space is on a first come first serve basis & open equally for the general public. That said, this is January in the central Puget Sound with little boating traffic. Who else but us STYC salts would be out there! Likewise for consideration; the wild herd of bold banshee raccoons that anxiously await all human visitations with opportunities for brazen exploration of the interior (yes interior) of your boat & the treasure trove of food it bares. Be forewarned. 

** The following items are requested: Help with set-up, dinner potluck items (w/ a serving utensil), Wood, Lanterns of any type, 2 propane heaters, your own ice, mixers, and *your additional favorite beverages. Bring your plate & eating utensils from your own boat. Music/Musical instruments highly encouraged. Garbage bags. And help w/ clean-up.
