Hello Carol, I have just purchased an ESSE 850 sport boat and recently wrote a response to Sailing Anarchy, “Daysailor for old people”.  A few photos of the boat are also on there.  You will learn quite a lot about me as well, i.e. I am a lifelong sailor, racer.

Also take a look at; https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/esse-850

It is my intention to race the boat ( a LOT ) in the Seattle, Puget Sound area.  I know no one there and need crew.  In particular we need a tactician who knows the area well and a few others that are great sail trimmers.  This boat is going to be a hoot to sail, race and in a nice breeze should go downwind in the mid teens easily.

I would prefer to talk in person, real time. 707 495 6429

    All the best,

    Jim

I would love to get out more this year. I have crewed on a J/105 for the Wednesday night races out of Shilshole. I have crewed for the Friday night Kirkland races as well, on a 40'. Raced in Around the County several years ago,  Whidbey Island Race Week and of course my share of Duck Dodges. I am 56 and in decent shape, but definitely more comfortable in the cockpit than on the deck. I have mostly done jib, spinnaker and squirrel, but happy to just be rail meat as well.  Looking forward to getting out on the water this year!
