COVID Situational Information
The cruise is predicated on the COVID hospitalization numbers leveling off or declining. If they continue to rise as the event approaches, the board may decide to cancel this cruise. The decision to cancel or not will be made on Monday, January 24th, 2022. An email will go out if we cancel.
This event for individuals who are vaccinated. Please have your vaccination card handy when arriving.
The state park requires that we wear masks in the public areas including restrooms, as well as when not eating or drinking inside the shelter.
Join us at Blake Island State Park for a fun and festive potluck at 3:30pm in the S2 Shelter beside the Blake Island Marina on Saturday, January 29th, 2022. Wear your favorite onesie for the optional (but prize bearing) contest.
We've had some delicious food shared at past events and we have the option to cook directly on the fire or a grill (examples: Reubens, lamb stew, fire-grilled salmon). Please bring a dish to share (including serving utensils), and your favorite ginger beer for Dark & Stormies. We'll provide rum and lime.
There are 6 picnic tables in the shelter, so there is plenty of room to eat and play games. There is also a small BBQ pit just outside the shelter for an outdoor fire/grilling/cooking. Let us know if you can bring firewood.
Please also bring lanterns and we can pool our bluetooth speakers together to create a fun atmosphere.
The state park marina is first-come, first-serve and rafting is allowed with 1 boat this year, so be prepared to help your neighbors configure/dock into the marina. Be aware there may not be enough electric outlets for everyone,--if you don't need it, please leave it vacant for someone that does.
We look forward to seeing you there!
