TAKE YOUR TIME FRIDAYS Every Friday in June & July (Seattle Sailing Club SAILFEST IS BACK IN AUGUST!)
SAILFEST WILL REPLACE TYTF IN AUGUST 2022
UPDATE! Sailfest is BACK this August, presented by Seattle Sailing Club in partnership with STYC and CYC. Sailfest is a series of Casual Racing in an effort to provide a more relaxed racing opportunity for cruisers, racers, liveaboards, and dinghies. Skippers will take their own finish times, and submit them to the website for scoring. Sailfest is a fun, FREE, racing event hosted by Seattle Sailing Club every Friday night in August. Everyone in the marina with a boat is invited to take part! Bring your friends, family, and coworkers along on August 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th.
Check-in at the
committee boat between 6:15pm-6:30pm to let us know you're here for the fun.
After the races, head back to the promenade with a pot luck dish to share for shore-side festivities, food (including free hot dogs), and drinks! We encourage all Sloopers who were planning to do TYTF to instead come out for a casual Friday evening Sailfest sail, followed by the traditional party on the plaza. Sailfest SI/NOR is available here.
TYTF is the most casual of casual races every Friday evening in June and July. There is no committee boat. You are on the honor system for the start, and there is only one start at 19:00, between the usual start pin and the yellow-painted rock on the breakwater. There are two rules: boats of a greater sailing ability are required to go out of their way to avoid boats of a lesser sailing ability, and there is no protesting or yelling. This is a great way to get started racing, or just get on the water for fun with other boats. This race is free for everyone.
