Who doesn’t love a bonfire and sailing?  There’s nothing better than putting your passion together with something that can help others, and there is a lot of need very close to home.  This year STYC and the Ballard Elks are joining forces to help raise donations for Mary’s Place.  Join us for a potluck and bonfire at the Port Ludlow Marina and the only admission price is a donation.  A propane grill is available. Everyone is invited, so bring your friends and come by land or sea and help donate to a very good cause!  The Elks will also have a donation bin available at the Lodge for those that can’t attend but still want to contribute.  Please make your reservations directly with the marina  at 360-437-0513 - space may fill up fast but there is also loads of room to anchor in Port Ludlow. Questions? danastyc@gmail.com.  RSVP here

Mary’s Place provides a welcoming environment where homeless women, children and families can find day and night shelter, food, and resources.

Visit their website for donation requests, but most urgent needs are twin sized sheets and blankets, large (size 4-6) diapers, wipes, toiletries, basic cold and cough medications, packages of oatmeal or breakfast bars and toiletries. $5-$10 gift cards to Walmart, Target, Fred Meyer or QFC are also very welcome!

STYC, in conjunction with the Ballard Elks,  is supporting Mary’s Place on this trip, so please bring some donations of toiletries, large (size 4-6 diapers), wipes, packages of oatmeal, .  Their list of needs can be found on their $5-10 gift cards for Walmart/Kmart/Fred Meyer/QFC.  You can get a more comprehensive list on their website at http://www.marysplaceseattle.org. We’ll have the covered picnic area, propane grill and the fire pit.  The marina sells wood, so no need to carry any along. This is an open cruise (any yacht club or group can join) so please invite your friends and round up some donations and let’s show Mary’s Place that we care! Please make your own reservations and let them know you are with STYC.  Dana Brooks
